We hope everyone had a fantastic New Years and rang in 2012 in style.
Here’s to 2012!
There is a video on the Hot Hits website that has James talking about his plans for New Years Eve. He is on at 1:29.
There is a short article on the Daily Examiner website about the new album from 27/12/11.
IT has been sitting in the vaults for a year but the fourth Rogue Traders album is worth the wait.
Released with a complementary best-of CD, it is a mix of the old and the new.
There are the anthemic hits of Voodoo Child and In Love Again, which are pure pop perfection, and on the flipside are the new, dreamy, pop-meets-disco tracks voiced by new lead singer Mindi Jackson.
Bring in 2012 in style and see James DJing at the 28 Lounge and Skybar at Melbourne’s Crown Casino on New Year’s Eve.
Tickets are $275 per person for the general public and $220 per person for Crown Metropol guests.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in style with special guest DJ, Jamie Ash from the Rogue Traders
28, Crown Metropol’s distinctive lounge and sky bar, features uninterrupted views of Melbourne’s city skyline. Guests will enjoy 28′s signature cocktail, ‘Midnight Blue’, on arrival, complimentary canapés, selected beer, red, white and sparkling wine throughout the evening and will be entertained by special guest DJ, Jamie Ash from the Rogue Traders. At midnight guests will ring in the New Year with a glass of Mumm Cordon NV Champagne and watch Melbourne’s spectacular pyrotechnic showcase from the open air balcony.

“We did leave Sony,” he admits. “It was not through want of everyone trying their absolute hardest and it wasn’t an easy thing at the time, I can tell you. It was quite upsetting. And also it was very confusing for our fans, because obviously they were waiting for a record that didn’t materialize, even though it was material in itself. So it was really, really hard.
“Really what turned it around was when we realized that we were approaching our ten year anniversary, which was an event for which we always intended doing a greatest hits,” he says.
“It seemed like a brilliant way to tie the two projects together. Out of loyalty, we went to Sony first and they really liked the idea. I have to give them a lot of credit for showing continued faith in us and here we are with ‘The Sound Of Drums’.”
The highlight single for the new release is ‘America’; a track written at the time that the Bush years came to an end and the Obama era began. We’re surprised to discover that James wasn’t really expecting the question about the new track.
“Mindi is a unique talent and she is her own person and we’ve always said from the beginning that we weren’t looking for the next Nat, we were looking for the first Mindi.”
“We’ve been living with this album for a long time, so we just need to get it out of system and play it out of our system and then probably by the time the tour is finished, we’ll start thinking about the next record,” James says.
“So we certainly intend to keep making music.”
We for one are very glad that they intend to keep on making music! Read the full article at auspOp.
